When to Repair and When to Replace Your HVAC

Your heating and air conditioning system keeps you and your family comfortable when inside of your home, so making sure you know how it works is critical.
Today, we want to discuss the signs to look for to recognize if you should call Coastal Home Services for a repair or a replacement.

Age. A general rule of thumb to follow when it comes to your HVAC system is if your system is older than 10 years old, then it should be replaced.
However, systems may last a few years past that deadline, but will increasingly lose efficiency as the years go on (costing you valuable money). Make
sure you know the age of your unit and know what that 10-year time limit is approaching.

Breakdowns. If your unit continuously breaks down after a blazing hot day or a freezing night, then a replacement may be your answer. Breakdowns
can create a snowball effect and can add up (in cost and efficiency) over time.

Unusual noise. If your system has to work hard to keep up with the intense demands of the weather – and is excessively noisy in the process – it
may be time for a replacement. However, if you are regularly maintaining your unit with Coastal Home Services, this problem can most likely be avoided
with small tweaks and efficiency checks.

Whenever you have an issue with your HVAC, the first step is to give us a call. From there, we can determine if your system needs a simple repair or a
full replacement. We are located in Morehead City, but service Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Cedar Point, Swansboro, Newport, Havelock and
more! Give us a call at 252-222-0026 – we promise to do what it takes to make sure you’re satisfied.
