How efficient is your HVAC?

There are so many different factors that can impact the efficiency of your heating and air conditioning unit. Here on the Crystal Coast, where we have
extremely warm and humid summers combined with the salt air that comes off of the ocean and Bogue Sound, our HVAC units really take a beating. Here
are some different things to consider when you’re considering the efficiency of your heating and AC unit.

1. Age of unit. The years of hard work your HVAC unit has under its belt can impact how efficient it performs. Unfortunately, like all
other home systems, your heating and AC unit won’t last forever. The environment and years of keeping your home at a comfortable temperature will eventually
take a told on your unit.

2. Lack of maintenance. Your HVAC unit requires regular maintenance in order to properly run all year long. Small problems can develop
that lead to serious problems if routine maintenance isn’t performed. Seasonal maintenance ensures that we catch those small issues and repair them
before they become a bigger problem.

3. Poor airflow. If your unit isn’t getting good airflow, it will have to work harder, consuming more energy. Poor airflow can be caused
by a clogged filter, ductwork problems or even a blocked condenser unit.
